Something vague

I get on a bus, I am wearing black stretch skinny jeans, they are so tight they could easily be mistaken for women’s leggings. It’s cold so I am wearing a vest, polo shirt, a blue sweater and a black trench coat, all purchased from Topman last Wednesday. I am not sure why this is important but it is. My iPod is on shuffle and has been so for the last couple of hours. ‘There’s No Sympathy For The Dead’ by Escape The Fate comes on as I approach the driver. I am shaking and my eyes are hurting again. As I open my wallet, also from Topman, the driver looks at me in the eyes and says something I cant quite hear. Although it sounded like he said “They are onto you”. I pull one ear phone out and say “huh?” The driver takes my money and says something that sounds like “You need to find a better disguise”. Confused, I walk away, I’m sweating, my eyes still hurt. A sense of dread overwhelms me. I take my seat feeling scared shitless. This feeling lasts for 3 days. A boy leads a dog onto the bus. At least I think its a dog but my vision is so blurry by this point it really could have been anything. I squint my eyes to get a better look at the beast but the boy obstructs my view of the animal. He is wearing some kind of ironic t-shirt that I dont understand. Something tells me I dont want to.

“You need to find a better disguise”. This is all I can think about when walking home from the bus stop. There is a parade in the street. Music is played. People are dancing and laughing. Everyone is wearing hideous masks that scare me just enough that i break into a jog, avoiding eye contact at all costs. I never figured out what the parade was for. Now I think about, I am not sure if they were even wearing masks at all. In my home I open my laptop, resuming an episode of ‘The Late Late Show with Craig Ferguson’. It’s a quarter way through the second segment. A horse appears on stage. Craig rides the horse while continuing his monologue. I find the horse disturbing in appearance. The crowd laugh, then applaud. Cut to commercial.
